Avoidable tragedies.
A new generation choosing to act.

File l’Espoir is an Ivorian youth-led organization founded in 2022 and registered in Côte d’Ivoire. We mobilize young people aged 18 to 35 to help build a lasting culture of blood donation and strengthen solidarity within communities.

The story that changed everything

In January 2022, one tragedy among many occurred in Côte d’Ivoire.

A 4-year-old boy named Miracle due to a lack of available blood. His parents desperately searched for a compatible unit, in vain. His story went viral, becoming the symbol of a drama that has become all too common: lives lost not for lack of care, but because blood wasn’t available.

Stories like these have been far too common in Côte d’Ivoire. Stories of men, women, and children who could have been saved if there was enough blood. Stories of families broken for a preventable reason.
Faced with this reality, a young woman, Rahma Diallo, decided to act. She mobilozed other young people around a simple idea: making blood donation a national cause and a civic duty.

From this spontaneous mobilization, File l’Espoir was born: an initiative that, in just a few months, became a youth movement committed to ensuring that no one else dies because blood isn’t available.

Our Purpose

File l’Espoir was founded on a simple belief: saving lives can begin with one essential act.

Our Mission: to educate, raise awareness, and mobilize young people ages 18 to 35 to help build a culture of regular blood donation in Côte d’Ivoire.

Our Vision: a Côte d’Ivoire, and ultimately an Africa, where no life is lost because blood was unavailable when it was needed most.

Every awareness campaign, blood drive, and conversation brings us closer to that reality. By bringing people together around blood donation, we are building a stronger culture of solidarity, responsibility, and hope.

How we act

To turn awareness into lasting impact, File l’Espoir works through four complementary pillars:

Break taboos, challenge misconceptions, and make blood donation easier to understand.

Train, mentor, and engage a new generation of committed young donors and advocates.

Coordinate mobile blood drives alongside institutional and community partners.

Build strong partnerships with healthcare actors, universities, businesses, and local communities.

Who We Work With

Since 2022, File l’Espoir has been collaborating with the National Blood Transfusion Center of Côte d’Ivoire (CNTSCI) and various public, private, and community stakeholders. These alliances strengthen our impact and allow us to bring blood donation closer to the people.

Our role alongside the national blood bank

The CNTSCI is the national institution responsible for collecting, processing, and distributing blood in Côte d’Ivoire.

File l’Espoir supports this effort by mobilizing young donors, strengthening awareness initiatives, and helping communities engage with blood donation. We don’t carry out medical procedures or blood collection ourselves. Our role is to inform, mobilize, and support the ecosystem that helps make safe blood available when it is needed.

Join us in building a stronger and more sustainable culture of blood donation across Côte d’Ivoire.
